Hoverboards Are Actually a Great Deal of Fun!

Most people know the hoverboard or self balancing scooter, due to bad events occurring with the lithium ion battery in it catching on fire or exploding. While I do know these risks, I received a hoverboard for Christmas and think it is a lot of fun.
The hoverboard works in a similar fashion to what it is modeled off of, the segway. The biggest differences are that it is quite a bit smaller, does not have a handlebar, and at first can be very difficult to control. The easiest way I learned how to ride the hoverboard was that you have to be on it correctly. While it may work backwards, it is more difficult and slower. If you actually ride it properly, then it will work correctly. The best way to learn how to ride it is to first get on, and get yourself steady on it. You should slightly bend your knees and really just think about where you want to go. From there, the correspondence between your brain and feet will take over and you should be cruising!
But it is worth noting the weight limit on the board. The weight limits vary depending on what kind of board it is (considering there are a few different types). If you were to exceed the limit there are dangers of the board breaking or not functioning properly.
I ride my hoverboard whenever I can, and it is always a lot of fun. I personally have trouble with turning but I got going forward down. I personally recommend riding outside considering there is more space which allows you to properly move around without being cramped indoors. However, you can ride it inside, just be careful if there are a lot of obstacles (such as pets, couches, tables, etc). But once you have had some practice and you get the hang of it, you will be good to go!
